Peg Perego discontinued making the well loved PlikoMatic in 2004 and replaced it with the newly introduced
P3. Below are a P3 in Black Sable (gray, black, charcoal scheme) and a PlikoMatic in Sandstorm (2002 color scheme, front
tray purchased directly from Peg Perego).
Peg Perego's P3 (newer model) is different which surprises many seeing them in real life. It has a
more angled frame, ergo handles, different style latch closing system, larger wheels, bigger toddler stands, comes with the
tray, can accept a zip in rain cover (standard on the Sport models, available through Perego for Classico models), and has
a slightly larger overall size. Its steering is improved allowing for an easy one hand turn. The overall feel is a bit more
plasticky than the Pliko as the tray is standard and the armrests are no longer vinyl/leatherette/fabric covered as they were
on the Pliko. It has become a fast favorite for folks looking for a stroller that can do most things easily, and will take
you from newborn to toddler easily (flat recline of 170 degrees, 45 lbs. main seat weight limit). For 2004 the P3 is offered
in new colors and the padding is a bit more plush.
The Pliko is still available for sale many places, and very good deals can be found on 2001, 2002, 2003
model year new strollers online, and used ones are readily available on Ebay, StrollerSwap (see the links) and local resale
outlets.

Right- Latch for the P3. It is a small plastic "loop" at the bottom of the handle. It latches easily, but did not feel
it was quite as sturdy a mechanism.
Left- Latch closure of the Pliko. It is down on the leg of stroller, and latches onto a small peg. This mechanism feels
very much more sturdy, however doesn't latch closed quite as easily.
